Valentine’s Day to be celebrated starting this week with events for all

For those who want to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the Bozeman area, many local businesses, restaurants, hotels and florists will be offering special deals and events.

Though one local woman claimed, “I don’t want to go out on Valentine’s Day because it’s too crowded in restaurants that day,” she also added that she would probably check out a shopping event planned for next Thursday downtown to get in on some good deals.

Kicking off Thursday, Feb. 9, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., “Men’s Night” is a Downtown Bozeman Partnership event, giving people the opportunity to shop, snack and sip while exploring the Valentine’s Day deals offered by over 40 retailers and restaurants.

Included in the list of participating businesses are: several jewelry stores, GetN’Green, Girls Outdoors, Great Rocky Mountain Toy Company, Erotique, Tart, Owenhouse Ace Hardware, Poor Richards, The Root, Schnee’s Boots and Shoes and many more of Bozeman’s favorite downtown shops. Restaurants and Bars will offer specials from 7-10 p.m. while the participating retailers will be open from 5-8 p.m.

Tarantino’s, Ted’s Montana Grill, Bacchus Pub, Emerson Grill, the Rocking R Bar and several others will offer festive deals on food and drinks.

“Romeo and Juliet,” adapted by Gillian Swanson, will be playing at the Blue Slipper Theatre in Livingston Feb. 9-10 evenings with a Matinee on Sunday Feb. 11 and a special evening performance on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, Feb. 14. Gallatin Gateway Inn will also be hosting a Valentine’s Gala with saloon jazz group Tumbledown House on Saturday, Feb. 10.

Valentine’s Day is busy with music, eating, classes and even the Bozeman Public Library has a love day event planned.

Classes to share with a sweetheart offered by yoga and dance studios are:

“An evening of Universal Love” and “Universal Love Meditation” from Yoga Motion Yoga Center, “West African Dance Class” by Jazzercise studio and “Tango Montana” at Beall Park.

Music and entertainment are offered in several restaurants and establishments on Valentine’s Day:

*  The Rockin’ TJ Ranch will be hosting their 7th Annual Valentine’s Day Dinner-Theater from 6-10 p.m., featuring the Equinox Theater Company

*  The V-Day 5 Course Dinner featuring Jeremy Morton at Starky’s Authentic Americana Grill begins at 6:30 p.m.

*  The Werks will be performing at the Emerson Crawford Theater at 10 p.m.

*  An open bluegrass jam will begin at Pub 317 at 7:30 p.m.

The Bozeman Public Library will be getting in on the love affair at 7 p.m. with a workshop entitled “The Inner Lover: Using Passion as a Way to Self-empowerment.”

Flowers are, of course, a Valentine’s Day standby, and arrangements can be bought at popular Bozeman florists Langohr’s Flowerland and the Country Flower Shop.
