The Sola Café on East Kagy Boulevard has reopened its doors after Sept. 13 fire. And owners have opened another location on Main Street.
The new eatery, Sola Presta, is next to the Cat Walk (a second hand clothing store) on Main Street. Open for only a month, this extension of Sola Café is located across from the Food Co-op and, perhaps more importantly, close to Bozeman High School and a lure to students on lunch break.
Sola Presta offers a full breakfast and lunch menu, with dishes made fresh daily. The eatery also offers take-out service and patio seating outside.
”At Sola Café we have a very small bakery space,” said Sola Presta baker Rose, “but here (at Sola Presta) we have a lot more space. Our manager had always wanted to find a bigger space, so when the location on Main Street was up for sale, we just went with it.”
The original Sola Café closed for four months because of the fire, which was blamed on a solar water heater electrical panel. No one was injured in the blaze.
Sola Cafe is busy with customers throughout the day. Sola Presta, on the other hand, experiences more of a rush of people at lunch time, thanks to their location close to the high school.
At Sola Café there is more seating and a dinner menu. At Sola Presta, there is a bigger bakery but less seating and no dinner menu.
Presta’s menu contains affordable lunch items such as flatbread pizzas, ice cream sandwiches, soup and other items made fresh daily. Their hours are 7 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
